Re: KFB and Health Insurance
The insurance companies figured out cost analysis, like I say medical costs are TOO HIGH, that`s not the insurance company`s fault. The cost to fix a BMW is higher than a Chevy, therefore insurance for a BMW is higher, if BMWs got cheaper, then the cost of insuring them would go down...right? All these whiz bang medical developments cost more than a workingman can afford to insure himself for....especially if his factory moved to China and he`s working 2 part-time jobs at Walmart and Dollar General. The workingman`s income has not kept up with the drug costs and malpractice insurance that the doctors have to cover their butts with.
The previous clown that came up with "uuum ooom ahhhumm the average aaaahh fam ah ley will ummm ooom save aahh $2,500 and year in ahhh premiums" well what happened to that promise? Blue Cross premiums doubled and tripled for the average uuum ooom ahhh family.

Re: KFB and Health Insurance
Well, if you found a private insurance that isn`t taxpayer subsidized, isn`t mandatory, doesn`t mess up anyone elses plans...all that and bucked the trend and went down 38%. What are you complaining about? Sounds like better & cheaper, everyone will flock to it and no need for socialized medicine. You`re in the catbird seat.

Re: KFB and Health Insurance
The "hated" insurance companies were in favor of Obamacare, the shiny buildings in Des Moines kept getting built and insurance companies got checks from the government. Trump stopped sending MY TAXPAYER money to the insurance companies when weak senators like McCain didn`t repeal Obamacare like their campaign promises said they would.
Look it`s like I say, (some have to learn by repetition) Obamacare did nothing to lower medical EXPENSES and that is the basis for the price you pay in premiums...parts to fix a Rolls Royce are more expensive than parts to fix a Chevy that can be bought of the shelf at O`Reily or Car Quest, therefore full coverage insurance has higher premiums on cars with higher priced parts, right?
If you like Obamacare, it is because the deckchairs were arranged to your specific liking on the Titanic ...deckchairs are to your liking but have no bearing on the iceberg that it`s about to hit.

Re: KFB and Health Insurance
Little V8, sounds like you like the fact that your health insurance went down 40 percent while mine doubled....guess that is the price I pay for working double time at two jobs.
Socialism works great as long as you don't.
I agree with BA....the USA needs to address medical care costs in general, not the delivery system of socialized benefits, where those of us that show more income subsidize those that arrange their income to show an amount below the so-called poverty line. Sooner or later most go the John Galt route and pick up their toys and leave the playground.
Socialism always fails once you run out of other people's money.

Re: KFB and Health Insurance
I`ll say again, no one has lower medical costs, when Obamacare first came in they were hemming & hawing about hardup clowns not going to the emergency room for care if they had regular health insurance and having "death panels" to send 70yr old granny home with a pain pill instead of a new hip, but there hasn`t been much bragging of those cost saving of late.
Republicans talk about "tort reform" so that if a doctor makes a small mistake while operating on a bum with a lifetime of bad decisions that they can`t be sued into bankruptcy without expensive malpractice insurance. Seems to me a doctor is doing the best he or she can, but we have to be practical and recognize that they are human and mistakes happen. Bums with a lifetime of bad decisions shouldn`t hit the lotto jackpot in court if that poor doctor leaves a small sponge in their sinful carcass.
Some individuals do practice their own form of "death panels" by saying they won`t go through radiation and chemo for cancer treatments, they pay out of their own pocket for alternative treatments in Mexico. But all these Taj Mahal hospitals with whiz bang instruments and labs that do endless expensive and un-needed test to pay for the Taj Mahal, that`s where a lot of the waste comes. There used to be a actual hospital in every town of over 2,000 population and healthcare was affordable, some didn`t need health insurance, if you could afford a $10,000 bill that hospital and doctor could remodel you to all that was humanly possible...now some of these insurance policies have a catastrophic deductable of $10,000 on a bill of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Commercials of drugs litter the airwaves and the side effects are more numerous that what they supposedly cure and you better hope your insurance covers the cost.
But we all clap our hands together like trained seals about keeping our kids on our policy until they`re 26 and "pre-existing conditions" (the hail is pouring down on your machine shed roof and you`re trying to quickly talk your crop insuranceman into giving you hail coverage....see how that works). But all those perks COST MONEY. But yeah, while we`re giving everything away, let`s forgive student loans too and wonder why the US deficit is over $1 trillion. I shoulda talked the kids into going to Harvard, being as it`s going to be free. 🙂
