Re: Kansas Farm Bureau throws dues paying members under the bus

I read the link and it sounds like a common sense plan to provide lower cost coverage to over 40,000 families that are suffering under the Obamacare unaffordable health plans.

I hope it works, and that coverage is expanded to other states. Sounds like something I would be extremely interested in.

Why do you object to the 40,000 getting a product that meets their needs?

It sounds like they had to pass it to find out what is in it. I liked the part where someone said that now people can decide to buy it or not to buy it. No one is forced into it if it doesn’t meet their needs. Free market. We need more of that

Re: Kansas Farm Bureau throws dues paying members under the bus

I am totally disgusted with it....just what about
Those of us, members for years....that pay our
Money for dues...that paid to formulate this
Hog manure....yet you have a pre-existing condition
You are out....they say they are for the farmers...
What about those of us that are...and you take
Our money ??? Did you note arthritis is pre-existing
How about diabetes....others....even being pregnant !!!

Please, do not play that song to me that it will
Save them money...if there is nothing wrong, they
Can easily get low cost insurance....go to Dave
Ramsey website, it will lead to an agency that
Will show you the price.

You say it's wonder...hope it spreads....

So what about me ??? Go to hell ???

Hope to meet you there.

Re: Kansas Farm Bureau throws dues paying members under the bus

There are things available to healthy people.
Remember....Trump signed and said they are
Ok ??

For those too lazy to do the footwork
Here is the link

https://www.ehealthinsurance.com/individual-family-health-insurance?

Farm Bureau is supposed to help ALL members.
Those with pre-existing conditions need it the most.

Yes...I am angry...using my money against me

Yet...I'm the bad guy....I'm against 40,000 people
Getting insurance.

Re: Kansas Farm Bureau throws dues paying members under the bus

Ok kids here are the numbers...and the facts

The ks dept of ag says average age of farmer
Is 58.2 years (not mean or mode)

Now ..it said no pre-existing conditions...nor
Cronic disease, and would be rated

Ok...let's look at the health data of people of
That age group (assuming the average Kansas
Farmer IS their target group)

2 out of 3 adults over 60 have high BP (aha)
Opps..your out

Adults over 50, the number of diabetics can double
(Ada)
Opps your out

Ages 40 to 59 are 5 times more likely to have
Heart disease compared to 20-39 year olds
(Aha)
Opps your out

41% of adults 40 to 59 are obese (Endo assn)
Opps.. your out

37% of people over 45 have osteoarthritis (AAA)
Opps...your out

Half of women over 50 and 25% of men have
Osteoporosis (AAA)
Opps...out again

Your odds of cancer double between 45 and 54
(Acs)
Opps...your out again

5 to 7 % of 40 to 59 year olds have depression
Opps...out again

18% of 40 to 59 have hearing loss
Opps.... You get a graded policy

According to 2017 data
238,000 uninsured in ks
87,000 enrolled via the exchange
13,000 insured off exchange (direct to company)

Look at
https://www.khi.org/policy/article/18-27

Notice, where the uninsured are...

Could it be due to undocumented people ?

So....just who is the target audience ?

Facts show, many average farmers will not
Be eligible for coverage...also the numbers
Do not add up.. and in the area the largest
Uninsured are in the SW, where there could be
Significant undocumented....also the KC and
Wichita metro areas (alot of farmers).

As my grandpa said..some liers figure, but figures
Don't lie.

So...if the shoe fits.wear it

The question is... Just who do they want to sign
Up ??? The young and we'll, and the carrier will
Make good money... And a friend of mine in
A insurance Co in the state is shaking his
Head...they are not required to get re-insurance.
He said he knows no other company in the state
That does not have it...like he said, you are a fool
If you dont

Kinda  like  crop  insurance,  don't  need  it,  till you  do  -  and  having  someone (  taxpayer)  help  pay  for  it  is  grand,  ask  your  farm  financial  company  agent  about  it    - -  -

You  see  how  the  President's  latest  con- versation  went  on  this  subject  -  as  he  was  told  to  shush  on  the  subject  -  like  closing  the  border  -  ?

Opps, forgot.... pregnancy is considered a
Pre-existing condition....but if you get an
Abortion...you can have coverage !!!

Yep...from the Bible thumping state of ks !!

And yes ..all the republicans in the house and
Senate voted yes.

Same place where we now allow strong beer
Sales in the grocery store, and sales on Sunday !!!

Yep....welcome to the Bible state

Re: Kansas Farm Bureau throws dues paying members under the bus

Crop insurance does serve to increase production, and does depress prices in both the short and long run....any debate on that fact?

I am ok with the crop insurance programs getting a big haircut.
