Re: Kids this is a game changer

elcheapo, my wife has a masters in micro-biology degree and the only thing that irritates her more than the "Food Babe" is people calling things harmful or cancer causing when there is NO PROOF.  After 24 hours of direct sunlight the chemical is broke down.  There is no proof of Roundup causing cancer, and the talking heads are finally saying what her and her college's have for several years, and that is not exposing your kids to some foods actually creates allergies. I under stand what your saying about California making rules for all of us to live by but we have to be the voice of common sense. Fritto Lay here in Nebraska is taking gmo white corn for chips as far as I know.

Re: Kids this is a game changer

Sure there is a market for conventional crops. I I assume you mean non GMO conventional? We got to get our communication straight here: Organic people throw everything not Organic into the conventional pile. Non GMO people get more sophisticated with their terminology. I'm not smart enough to focus on more than one market segment most of the time.
Anyway, yes there is a market for non GMO conventional crops. Soybeans more so than corn I think. But I think you should try a bit more direct marketing of your crop. Selling to people you know and who will use your crop to make something value added, can pay large dividends.

Re: Kids this is a game changer

BA, you are exactly right! Sure we benefit by using the gmo products, but we also pay for the privilege. The gmo companies don't needus, they just want the "tech fee". They get paid for the privilege of fighting that battle.

I have benefitted greatly from the use of gmo products, but my benefit was paid for by me. Why should i have any emotional stake in this fight. Do we think monsanto could give a flying "you know what " about us?

Elcheapo,
Maybe we should move this thread to the Organic Forum? Where is that anyway? Ha!

Re: Kids this is a game changer

I guess I'll continue to produce whatever crops I can make a little money at. Whether it's GMO, non-GMO, conventional or whatever someone wants to call it.
