Re: LP supply and prices

Not sure where I would fit with Jim's safety regulations but we have lifted them up and set them on a flat bed trailer.  Strapped down and parked close to the emptier tank.  Then connected the wet line of the tank on the trailer to the wet line of the tank on the ground.  It will gravity feed with a little time.

Re: LP supply and prices

That propane story today must have been approved by the high and mighty of news sources.   It was on national tv as well.

The account I saw tried to sensationalize it by blaming export sales increases.  Leaving out the fact that we export only 20% of our production and leaving in the fact we increased exports from last years exports.  Last years was actually only 10% of production.

What's the chance we just weren't ready for a cold winter in the northeast half of the country?

This "just in time" supply chain is not always the best policy.

Re: LP supply and prices

Went to a fire dept. meeting with our supplier on Monday and he said it was 2.45 that day, thought it would be 40 cents higher by the end of the week and probably go higher than that. He also heard the storage in Kansas were running empty and there was already talk of issues for this falls dryer gas.

Re: LP supply and prices

I've heard of ppl talking bout 10 bucks a gallon now. This story is snowballing on every forum. Wow!!!!

If propane is 3 something a gallon next year I won't be drying a single bushel. So they better get it figured out... Maybe I can get er cheap in August.

We had some tanks topped off yesterday at $3.03/gal.  One more tank topped off today at $4.09/gal.

Re: LP supply and prices

Been on a 50 percent frequent fill program here (house only) for 3 months. Talked to a guy on the co-op board who said 5 bucks tomorrow. Says that they need that to be managing suply and accountds by running hither and yon, keeping hundreds of customers from running out, but only putting in a minimal amount at every stop. Poses a potential calaminity for confinement livestock, esp. swine finishing barns that are caught empty (horrors) or full of, say, 15# weaners. Coldest two nights of the winter headed our way early next week. Somebody down below drew attention to the "just on time" thing. Not exactly related to LP and not too widely reported on, but JOT is beating the crap out of Target and Wal-Mart too.

Re: LP supply and prices

It is a cold one, even here in Carolina. Not going out of the twenties today, weatherman guarantees.

We just took our second delivery of LP this past week. I think Mike said about 7,000 gallons. Glad we have a set cost share price with our integrator.
