Re: Monsanto Gives Up Sygnenta Bid

It sounds like a ploy to run down the Syngenta stocks even further. Monsanto wants to become "Mongenta". It seems Monsanto badly wants access to Syngenta's seed treatments and ag chem products. These two companies have made a real spectacle of things. Competition is in the best interest of the farmer.

Maybe the big M is going to wait until the farmer litigation is over.

Re: Monsanto Gives Up Sygnenta Bid

Monsanto evidently does not have enough dough to buy Syngenta.....it's that darn Simple.

( keep in mind, this was a touch like a fish trying to swallow a whale so to speak ).

Syngenta is larger than Monsanto from several aspects.

sooooo it takes some agreement from a larger company to merge with a smaller company.

thus useing some blended stock as capital for the whole deal ( and not rely on all cash such as Monsanto's idea of a somewhat hostile buyout of the other company ).

personally i'm with syngenta on this.

kinda wonder what monsanto was trying to pull off with all their socialist flanking tactics on this?

heck this is Not a bunch of farmer business anyway...except for a few that might own some monsanto stock.

kinda wonder if monsanto has some other Problems they're trying to guise down the road.

syngenta sure would have cured any looming capital issues with monsanto down the road ( from a corp accounting stand )

Re: Monsanto Gives Up Sygnenta Bid

i've never seen so many "sort line" seed company signs along fields in my life. I have no idea if this proliferation is going to bring competition that brings seed costs down or not. The bigs still control the tech fee end, so maybe there isn't all that much room. But interesting, if nothing else.

I think the name usage and short line companies is, for the most part, performance liability protection.

Quality control is getting pretty hard to maintain

We've seen refuge in a bag mean many things.
