Not that it worth anything other than curiosity purposes, but how many of you use text messages as a frequent means of communications?

Not putting it down, but often thought it's a step backwards compared to century-old technology (alexander graham bell voice recognition).

Re: Quick user poll conducted by Shaggy
Several people on my short list have hundreds back and forth between us. Still isn't like a voice call but doesn't take up much time, especially when busy.
Also use the voice recognition feature, kind of interesting seeing how it sometimes interprets what I said into something totally different even though it is phonetically close.

We are in a low signal area --------- texts will go through when calls won't ------- we use text a lot.
Also get sprinkler alerts as texts when they stop or change direction.

Re: Quick user poll conducted by Shaggy
Several daily some days, not at all on others. Depends upon the person I am contacting. If I want to be sure they cnanot deny the contact was made, I text. If they are very busy and need the message but not the disruption of the call, I text. Iff I need to read a response by vocal tone, I call.

Re: Quick user poll conducted by Shaggy
I quite frenqently use text messeging. It's quick and easy for some things. Such as telling my wife ill be home in an hour, or itll be later then i planned. Especially on the tractor, a text is quick and i can send one now without even looking at the buttons, where my dad likes to call right when im getting ready to turn around so i have to stop answer the phone hear what he has to say. Where a text i could wait till i turn around and then answer it.
BUT i do believe texting does go to far at times. At my wife's last job her boss would text her at 1030 at night or 6 in the morning, that is starting to go to far. Ive even had classified ads where the first communication was through a text messege, I don't even reply to those.
It goes back to some of the other comments, if your comfortable with the person you are talking to texting is fine, but beyond that keep it professional.
