Real tariffs

The tariffs that should have been here for years.
Internal tariffs —- let’s call them increased sales taxes.
Companies owned primarily within the US that choose to manufacture elsewhere and bring production back into the US for sale.
There should be a penalty, all along, or. If you need a different viewpoint, an incentive for building US economy, jobs and tax income to fund our public needs.

Re: Real tariffs

While the argument would mainly be that the costs would just be passed along in prices, it would serve as a competitive penalty for those companies "outsourcing" production or parts of production in another country, at least relative to those companies whose production is entirely domestic.

The   complex  backdrop  of  economics  has  the  standard  of  ''preaching  to  the  choir'' -   @  example  of   percentage  of  increase  an   export  product  while  market  loss  domestically  is  ignored  ?  ?

Re: Real tariffs

It is hard to ask Congress to impose it when we the people won’t when we buy.
But I do remember Toyota’s boost in sales when they built plants in the US.
