At least its inanimate objects being thrown out, a relative of mine had a dead goat, our dogs regularly get sick off of dead deer carcasses (last vet visit $$$$).  I hate when the ignorant fools dump their animals, like they think we can take in every poor housepet that doesn't know how to fend for itself after living indoors. I took in a recently pregnant cat that wandered up to me in the garden last fall, and i don't know if i want to know what happened to her babies!   I'd love to post signs stating that dumped dogs have the possibliity of being shot for chasing cattle if they aren't run over by a fast moving grain hauler first.

When taking a relaxing walk down a quiet country road, I hate to find a deer carcass - robbed of its trophy head - tossed onto a ditchbank.  I've made a call or two to the game guys to report it, since you had a clue it was right down the road from a certain hunt club's lair.  I don't know if they stopped, or just stopped using our road, but I don't see them anymore. 

Strays can be an issue in the country, but it can turn out well.  Right before Christmas, Mike found a little female mutt sitting on the stoop at the empty house of a deceased neighbor.  I was in town and got a text, "BTW, we have a new dog."

Mike had seen her sitting in the cold on a dead lady's steps.  She "somehow" found her way onto the golf cart, when he was coming back from getting the mail that day.   

Named her Suzie after the neighbor, Sue.  It did cost us almost $600 to get her spayed and up on shots, plus treating the nine already here for everything she had in the way of worms.  It's only money, right?

She showed up about four weeks before my own best bud passed away.  That is how it always seems to happen here...one leaves, or is ready to leave, and another shows up to help fill that empty place in your heart.   

Suzie spends her evenings now floating back and forth between Mike's lap and lying on the chaise on the chair with me, often with her head on my heart. I always ask her, "Who was so stupid that they threw you away?" 

Every stray doesn't stay - most keep moving, looking for the louse that left them - but, I am so glad this one did.  She's riding in her Daddy's truck, helping him with his chores around the farm right now. 

I hope we never get too sour on life to refuse to give the ones that hang around a home.  Two of the dogs - the Maremmas on pasture with the sheep -  have even adopted a dog of their own. 

Our daughter has nine dogs at her house at the other end of the farm, too - eight are rescues/strays.  She has her Daddy's soft heart.

Imagine a pickup load of shot snow geese on the road. It is not only stupid, but hazardous. Wish they would catch these people as their littering habits can cause traffic accidents.

I see you are bent up in shape. What happens when you hit a beer bottle? It breaks or is thrown into the ditch or field. What happens when you hit a pickup load of dead geese sitting dead center on the road at 50mph? I'll let you figure out which is worse. The roads I travel are full of beer bottles, beer cans and boxes on Friday mornings, but I don't hear that much complaining here. Maybe there are too many guilty parties in this neck of the woods..

Didn't mean to downplay the assortment of glass beer bottles and debris, yes i agree a handfull of broken glass is a serious hazard.  I have pity too for the guy that rents the ground near my local Walmart and has alfalfa planted there.  The hundreds of plasti bags and assorted trash must make him shake his head everytime he goes to  windrowing and baling it up.  We have a problem here too with litterbugs, but we also have observant neighbors readIy to report  a liscense plate if they catch anybody doing wrong here. 

10 yards from our 2 driveway somebody dumped a pickup load of crap off to the side of the road.  I concluded it came from a mobile home from the items left behind.  I started loading it into the back of my truck and before i knew it a neighbor driving past stopped to help ( i woulda done it for him if the shoe were on the other foot) and we tossed an old box sring and mattress, sacks of trash and some steel mobile home siding in together. 

In my neck of Iowa i can say the cops are my friends and so are my neighbors.... i hope one of yours catches yur litterbugs to give you some satisfaction.

What really bothers me is the beer cans and bottles are always empty.

It would make it alot more fun if one would be full now and then.

But then I would imagine kids would look for the full ones and still leave the

empties for me.

I have Busch Light cans all over in my Ditches too...  During harvest while waiting for the combine to fill the semi I literally make a fortune walking the ditch and pickup up the cans and returning them for the $.05 deposit on each.

People must be so rich that they don't need the money?

One time a very wealthy business owner walked by his employees and saw pop cans in their waste basket.  He told his employees he must be paying them too much money cause they have money to throw away!

Needless to say no one ever through a can away again in his company.

   In Ohio we have no deposit laws.   Coca-cola has a powerful anti deposit law lobby.  When I owned their stock I received mail from them requesting donations.  Maybe this is an issue our farm groups could take up.  I think the majority of the public would be on our side and the ''greenies" too.  Even the litterers wouldn't speak out publicly against a deposit-anti littering law for fear of being associated as a litterer.  How about a quarter a can?  That would pay for the gas in the golf cart.
