Be careful of containers. They could have residues of meth and cause a big problem for you. Just never know what you might pick up trying to be nice to Mother Nature.

If it would stop with cans and bottles-we have accumulated dozens of tires, a sofa various t.v.s

an old toyota truck body, which by the way the owners left the registration in the glove box, deer

carcasses, dead calves and bags of trash-which always split open upon ejection from the vehicle.

Although it is nice when the perps put their addressed mail or prescription bottles in the trash.

The county and people who hunt our land do help cleanup, but still people just don't seem to

have any respect anymore.

Will your sheriff help you by citing the ones that dumb for littering? 

We had a couple of bags tossed out on my family's homeplace - a teenaged son didn't wnat to drive them all the way to the dumpster from a neighbor's house - and the tossed mail made the identification of the offender easy.  Deputy carried it to the parents, explained potential fines.  They sent the boy to pick it up, and it never happened again.

It's great to teach kids to recycle.  He wil never forget that money and the lesson. 

Our SIL has turned in about $3000 in junk metal from the farm here now, since December.  He's told me that the dumpster box can be removed anytime now, which means the barnyard cleanup is about complete.  That is a monthly contract with no pro rata, so I asked him to finish it on the end of a month. 

I think he's got a couple pickup loads of tires to carry to the county landfill, and I asked him to make one more dumpster load of the crappy old upholstered furniture out of the country store we bought last September.  We agreed they would clean out the store adn little warehouse there, Mike's shop and all the accumulated debris from the beginning of the farm and restoring this house...16 years' worth of junk - In return for the metal to recycle. 

That was a good deal for us...the kids got the metal, in exchange for picking up the place.  I think he's got maybe one more load to recycle...I am hoping that total will be at least $3500-4000 when they are done.  Metal prices are so good right now, they just might make it!

What in the world is wrong with people that litter the public roadways. Its not that hard to toss something in the garbage whether it be the can by the gas pump or the garbage can in my garage.

  1 of 2 things.  Either they are slobs or they don't want their wives to know they are drinking.  Picked up 17 cans on my 3/4 mile of frontage and another 9 on the dirty half mile.   It's the bottles that really upset me.  I found the remnants of a broken one in the hay field.
