Re: Royal Star Farms?

I would suspect it will be a shock for the sales person that retailed the items to this outfit  ---lots of untold pain involved when the air exits the ballon ---

Re: Royal Star Farms?

Do not have a clue as to how these seed transactions work.  I thought selling was one thing and collecting for sales another.

Big companies all have ways to delay paying for things to make their books look better at certain intervals.  Stockholders look at the bottom line, and do not realize how much money the company owes, in order to make the picture look so rosy.  As this situation shows, the hens eventually come home to roost.

Wonder if any landlords will get stung and is there a reach back for funds paid before the bankruptcy filing

Re: Royal Star Farms?

Does anyone know if some or most of the individuals listed are landlords. If so, yes they will get stung. Maybe they deserve it for taking that big money and not just sticking with tenants they had previous.

Re: Royal Star Farms?

I would think any who are owed rent and not paid would have that as a bad debt to write off, so if they don't need the income to eat and keep warm, that makes it more palatable a pill to swallow.

This just smacks of the Madoff fiasco.

If a new grain elevator got built, and offered you more for your corn, than the one you have been going to would pay, would you 'deserve it' if that company didn't pay you?

It isn't the landlord's fault, that the tenant went under.  If the rent was too high, they didn't have to rent it.

What you mention did happen to me in 2008 and then 2009 had to fight like hell to get my money. The saying about something being to good to be true....

Re: Royal Star Farms?

Not the landlords fault. We don't know. What if he was paying much higher rent than anyone else. Then things changed (drought) the landlords wouldn't lower rent. Just don't know. This whole thing is very intreging to me.
