Re: Rural Kansas Dying
World wide Technology is here to stay even though farms won't be a big market for it. And even though it will fight with affordability to get all it can from the marketplace, the US is going to continue to be the driver financially in being the direct "walmart" to the world. Ag will be limited in tech benefit as government grows with an unlimited checkbook for technology I don't see how agriculture sees a "political" advantage economically for some time..... Which means congess is not going to fight for agriculture's benefit. If that is true the small vs large farm issue will remain talked about with the traditional advantages to size plus some tech advantages.
Congress has to figure out how to tax internet profits. I doubt the tariff department will get the job done----------- Or it has to figure out a way to raise taxes on investment income through stock value growth.
The leadership gives lip service to the poor and working classes to get their votes but still tax payrolls at a much greater rate than investment income which can grow untaxed for decades. regardless of party, they both continue the process of hanging the cost of government on a century old formula that hangs the burdon primarily on W-2 incomes.
