Re: Starting from scratch

From what I've seen in my area it is basically impossible to start from scratch and make a living at it, not in today's world. Costs are to high economically and as another poster mentioned consider the cost to your social life, it will suffer I know this to well. Heavy duty mechanic? Get a job in the oil patch and make $40 $50 or $60 an hour, someone like you is in big demand, take advantage of that and the security it brings.

Re: Starting from scratch

Ben, the answer to your earlier question is Central Kansas.  That is where I am located.  Hopefully you have figured a direction for your career.  This is a wonderful sight with great experienced and successful contributors on a daily basis.  If you have any further questions about anything agriculture, this is a great place to get most of those questions answered.  I can tell you first hand, that nearly all of my concerns have been answered right here on this site.  Good luck in whatever direction your decisions take you.
