What Would You Charge For Your Data?

Suppose Climate Control or Pioneeer or somebody wanted to put sensors on your farm to collect data such as weather.  What would you charge?  Would you permit the collection if you got the data free?  Would you want some money?  Would you be willing to have your data owned or shared by others?

Re: What Would You Charge For Your Data?

Would you even get a chance to charge??

It all is defined in the fine print of the technology licensing agreement.

The company has the right to collect your data and market it however they choose....

The only thing undefined is the definition of data to be collected.........But it is theirs...

Has anyone contacted former sect. of Ag on this  - maybe he would clear the record as he is on the director board of a major manufacturer ?

Re: What Would You Charge For Your Data?

They already get the data for free. They use remote sensing technology, weather radar, satellites and know everything about your farm. Then they charge you a fee to access the data.
