Re: Where Are Gas Prices Going?

Normally, watching the crude oil price is the best way to determine where gas prices will be in the next week or two.

The hurricanes were an exception to my above statement, but prices are starting to return to following the crude price.  While there has been a considerable amount of talk about the damage that Hurricane Nate might do, there has been very little actual damage being reported.  Many gas stations currently have a fat margin left over from the hurricane fuel price spike.

If Hurricane Nate has done significant damage (which I doubt), or if the crude price spikes for an unforeseen reason, then fuel  prices will increase.  However, if crude remains steady or goes lower, then fuel prices could drop, though I doubt the drop would be significant.
