Wow! 160 acres in 3 1/2 hours

biggest farmer in iowa showed up to harvest a quarter near me. 3 combines , 2 carts, and a parade of semi's from 5 star coop. Oh and yields are respectable, so quite a feat of harvesting.  Always wondered how the patrons at five star feel about having that many trucks committed to one guy? Hopefully it is adding to everyones local dividends. (or the grain merchandiser's pocketbook if u  know whAt i mean)

HA HA John like the patrons of any CO-op matter! That is funny.

But maybe now he can come down here and get his crops out around me.

Maybe the coop wants to ""secure delivery"" ---

I`m told "everybody`s done"  and Ventura didn`t have to pile on the ground, so I supose rather than twiddle their thumbs, they`re gonna chase some.  What would make a guy made is if it was a slow late harvest and you had to sit in line and watch the manager stop everyone else and wave those trucks through.  That earlier "1/2 price drying" fiasco wasn`t too wise some piles had +30% moisture corn at the bottom that wasn`t dried and those few 84º days had a bit of odor to it.

Ha!  Lets say you are an elevator manager and Mr BTO wants the ability to dump his corn in a hurry so they can harvest 160 acres in a few hours. Perhaps necessary to get his harvest done in a reasonable time.

Keeping that BTO moving and happy might be your objectives if the business of crop imputs is at stake for thousands of acres. While steep discounts on crop imputs might be a good incentive, facilitating the progress of his harvest may well be further incentive.

Do you want his business or not, mr BA Elevator Manager?

Putting on the cooop trks making sure it gets to the right destination some would guess is part of the out standing obligation---you can fill the blanks with what ever although the irrgated here is all over the place as far as yields ---watch the monitor go from 110 to 220 in the same 8 half mile rows ---

Re: Wow! 160 acres in 3 1/2 hours

It depends Don, on how much a manager values customer relations and ultimately his job. Keep in mind the bto will sell out the coop for 3 cents and probably won't buy fertilizer there. They have to weigh all that in making that decission. Btw I don't know any managers that are that way, but i've heard of'em.

Doesn't the grain merchandiser just tear up contracts for him anyway?
