Considering the amount of deer I've hit or have run into me in a vehicle and the number of years I've been driving, I calculate the odds of me hitting a deer at 33%. I'm an avid deer hunter, but I'm pretty sure I've killed more deer with a vehicle than with a gun. My wife used to brag how she'd never hit a deer before she met me. Well, she's killed more than her fair share with a vehicle since she's known me. I bet I've killed a third of the deer with a vehicle during daylight hours. I actually had one jump off of a bank above the road onto the hood of my pickup. It's of little wonder why most of the semi's around these parts have those big bulky grill guards on them. A friend of mine averages running at least one deer through his combine every two years. Because of the amount of deer accidents, I absolutely refuse to ride my motorcycle at night.
