Your Official State Soil

If I ever knew that every state has a representative or Official State Soil, I guess I'd forgotten. Found mention of it today and a link to the NRCS list: Link here

At a time when the weather and intensive farming practices are giving our soils a pretty good beating, it seems like it might be good to appreciate the basic resource of our business.

I believe we have some of the Holdrege series on our farm in Nebraska. My favorite state soil name: Maryland's Sassafras.

I've never even heard of our's. Indian's is the only one on the list I've heard of.
