corn vs. beans which is out of whack?
The local prices are corn $3.92. beans $13.17, resulting in a 3.35 ratio. This is a long way from the usual 2.5 or so corn bean ratio. Is corn too low or are beans artificially high for some reason. I expected beans to drop following last weeks report but the opposite, as usual in my case has happened. What gives?

I tink the bean carryout is somewhat tight while corn is very plentiful.

I know what you are saying there as that is quite a ways out of line, but to get a more accurate picture. I usually look at the Nov. 14 Soys vs. Dec 14 Corn as this will have more effect on future decisions by producers on what to plant. Currently futures market is at 11.70 / 4.72 = 2.47. However I have not factored in basis here. BTW NWO where are you located at?
