fielders choice

Why did a very competitive corn company go out of business? Were they bought up by bigger companies to cut the competition?

Re: fielders choice

The Fielder's Choice brand was bought by Monsanto several years ago; why they were closed out this year is beyond my knowledge, though.

Re: fielders choice

Steve,

Not sure u got your question answered --------------or if it can be easily answered.

But I want to say that I think that the control of the seed supply and its effect on agriculture is more troubling to me than the weather we also cannot control.

I see interesting research and development and we are reaping amazing new abilities, but I was much more comfortable with our future when the gene pools were in the hands of smaller farm based entities.

But a lot about the our country has a sick twist to it.  Could be age and mental rust.

It is an interesting time.

SW

From the way you respond, i can see wisdom jumping out at me. Your generalization is my fear also. The good prices FC gave us will probably not carry through with the companies which fill in for them. Too bad for us farmers. I will probably go with Pa seed companies.

Tell me SW, if you would care to, is your wisdom godly or secular?

The truth is, Monsanto saw that people were getting a good deal and that just isn't allowed in their business philosophy. They are determined to squeeze every last penny out of us that they can.

Something real interesting on  " Moyers  and Company "  about  the  " seed  business "  in  an  interview  with Vardavo Shiva  from  India  --- I  have  reviewed  it  twice  and  find  very  unsettleling  ---
