Good point, but this is just the side show.  The real show is the cheap dollar trick the Fed is implementing and then they keep the cost of food and energy from being included in the inflation category.  The reason inflation is rather tame in the nondiscretionary items is because people don't have enough money left over after they pay for food and fuel.  If the Fed wanted to get business rocking and rolling again, they'd find a way to curb fuel expense.  On the other hand, fuel needs to get expensive enough in order to encourage alternative uses.
