Hub and stub axle source?

Jump to solution

I've got a Farmhand feed grinder.  We broke one of the stub axles today right at the inside bearing.  Its a stub shaft abotu 18 inches long and 2-2.5" diameter for a six bolt implement tire.  I'll probably just take it to the Amish repair shop on Monday and have them make me a new one unless someone else has a better suggestion.  I hate to even try to get parts from AGCO because they have no clue about farmhand grinders.  We stold one off the spare grinder to get it going.  It took an awful lot of jacking, blocking, and digging to get it up in the air to work on.  We were lucky it didn't bust in the mudhole.

Shoup manufacturing sells stub axles, hub and bearing kits of what you`d need for about $80. That`s what I`d do, get a whole new deal. Maybe NAPA or a parts house could also get a kit. Just google Shoup. Good Luck!
