Re: Roy, I got new hearing aids

and they work so well they are driving me nuts. Road noise in the cars. Pots and pans banging in the restuarants. Somebody elses kids bawling. I evn hear the coffee dripping in the coffee pot. Footstep on the side walk. All those sounds that normal people hear are rather irritating.

Sometimes one can appreciate silence. Is it better to hear nothing than hear everything? I think years of tractor driving without cabs and less than desirable cabs wrecked my hearing. The new hearing technology is simply wonderful compared to a few years back. But it is still irritating hearing what you would rather not hear.

Re: Roy, I got new hearing aids

My  new hearing aid has a remote control that allows me to select a program that lmits the background noise. Also I can change the volume. Notice I said hearing aid. I have only one because I have hearing only in my right ear. The wireless feature transmits sound from the left side so I have some ability to hear dounds from my left side. I got mine from the VA. They are great people if you have any military service time.....Soyroy.

Here is a graphic representation of the difference between axial and centrifugal fan noises.
