Ishmael
Have you noticed any differences in this site since you were appointed sheriff?
You are just like the small town just got your first job cop. Instead of keeping the peace in the back ground you are passing out tickets for two over, jay walking, etc. Now are three or four posts on the weekends and ten or less during the week what your goal is? If so you are wildly "successful".
Now in realality you have let the ad dept run 100 mph down main street, run with the jake.brake engaged after midnight, and let the main street businesses get their Windows broken. This all while your our terrorizing the local citizens, I for one have all but taken a road around your village, I also will not do any business with your bully pop up, cover my screen, corner dope pusher companies.
Just really sad around here.
Hobby, over and out.

Re: Ishmael
I couldn't have said it better myself. Course, what's a small town without a Barney Fife?

Re: Ishmael
It is turning into a ghost town very quickly. The machinery talk section used to be a happening place, but now it is a dead zone. I fear the same is happening here. This is the internet. There are unlimited options available.

Re: Ishmael
Agweb's marketing page looks to me like guys just bitching and making fun of each other from what I can see, very little actual marketing talk, or useful information.

Re: Ishmael
I think all sites have the complaint that they are "dead" and this is why...smart phones! It`s easy to read on these sites but really difficult to post, especially this site. The popups interfere with the post you`re trying to type, I`ve given up with it, if Schurrbart or Don says something ridiculous about how good Democrats are, I`ll see it on my phone and if it really aggravates me, I`ll run in the house or wait until I`m home to make my post.
But, you can make the dumbest post on the marketing page and get 1,000 views, so there is activity. Trouble is the best posts don`t get replies. My theory is since it`s hard to reply with a phone, many don`t bother. The busiest page is the forum, alot of posting but each post is lucky to get 50 views. But, let`s look who posts there, retired people (Democrats) and people that are very very very indifferent towards Obama, enough so that they will drop what they are doing to run in the house and set the Democrat straight!
On the market page, you really need a "NIAFarmer" that stirs the pot hoping that markets go down, otherwise I hate to say it markets are kind of boring...yeah they go up a little and down alot and it all really sucks but kind of boring.
With twitter and such to be competitive these sites have to make access by phone much easier, because it`s a different world even from 3,4 years ago.
But reply to posts, don`t just lurk, cause it will die without feedback. Even...especially if you disagree with a post ...reply!

Ishmael ....HELP! I can`t reply to anything. Some of us can only communicate through PM. and this editing trick.

Re: Ishmael
I would add this....... Ya did a little good work over on the agforum page.......... and since politics is such a turn on over there,,,, give em all the advertising you got. They're into that stuff...
But Hobby's got a point, the marketing page has done a good job of monitoring it self for several years.... We nag at each other for too much farmer or too much trader, and we come here to enjoy an hour or two on a weekend with a little high brow entertainment,,, when the markets are not in session; but we might turn on you like a pack of cousins if ya try to escort one of ours out of Miss Kitty's.... Elcheapo is expressing frustration at how scarce the marketing opportunities are right now.. Not much different than traders do when the market takes 6 months to move 5 cents.
Be sure you understand what the writer is saying before you pass judgement ..... actually, sheriff, marketing is a good place to hang out and tip back a chair while ya listen to Doc and Festus narrie up the marketing problems as they sees em...

Re: Ishmael
And Ishmael -------- Ya don't have much understanding of the subject at hand it appears..........
"Do we need American Agriculture?" Is a challenging and interesting thought and very relevant to the change the Chicago Merchantile Exchange made this last year....... trading the US market volume (known and reliable) for the Super Volume of the Internet world market ( an uncontrollable and possible unpoliceable unknown)
The subject comes up in my mind when I try to figure out who got thrown under the bus for CME profits(--- interpretation-- what are the ramifications of this change)......... Our newest form of "off shore gambling".

Re: Ishmael
Perhaps if everyone just includes the word "Marketing" in the title of the thread no matter what it is actually about, we can confuse him. LOL
Seriously though, many times I feel like you can get what the mood of the "Farmer" or the "Trader" is just by the posts that are made even if they aren't actually marketing related, which can be both entertaining and useful.
