Gene edited PRRS resistant pigs developed
Some Frankenpigs have been developed that are immune to certain diseases. I suppose the short lived rallies in the hog market will become even more rare once these pigs get into production. I question the taste of the pork for consumers from these hogs, people that buy freezer pork from me say there`s obvious better taste from outdoor, old Farmers Hybrid stock over the "lean" Landrace confinement pork. To add messing with the animal`s genes, may be like cattle preferring to graze on non-gmo corn stalks.
Perhaps this will drive even more consumers to the niche natural pork market.
