Pork Powerhouses in the works: A lot more sows?
Was just chatting with Betsy Freese here earlier today, who's been putting together the Pork Powerhouses report now annually for the last 20 years. She said she just has gotten started researching what the big boys are up to, and it sounds like there are a lot of signs of a whole lot more sows out there. Expansion is back, maybe in a big way?
What are you seeing in your neck of the woods? More farms going up around you? Think we're beginning a new phase of expansion?
Re: Pork Powerhouses in the works: A lot more sows?
Thanks for starting the thread.
Not hearing much about expansion. A bit in Nebraska (new sows) but it's for genetic herds. Haven't heard of any big commercial increases.
Anyone else heard anything?
