Re: Caseih Mx120 hydrualics
The MX series doesn't have the same type of hydraulics as the Magnum series. I bought one so that I could hook it on to my Deere 750 drill, and found out it doesn't have the proper hydraulics to run one. It can be hooked up to a hydraulic motor through the hydraulic valves..but I'm not too sure it will work on a remote hydralic system. Better check with a mechanic with lots of training on that series...because there doesn't seem to be that many "in the know" these days.

Re: Caseih Mx120 hydrualics
Try running it by pushing the cab lever forward and switching the hoses around. I had an MC series McCormick that I think is a similar tractor. Mine had plastic holders to hold the lever forward or backwards. The #1 hose outlet is a priority valve. Try outlet 2 or 3 if you have them. I also put in a direct return line sump outlet. I was still unsatisfied with the performance so I went to a PTO pump to run the vacuum motor on my planter.

Re: Caseih Mx120 hydrualics
Its not a good idea to hold the vavle on like that. And the mx120 will run a deere drill. The proper way to do it is to adjust the detent so the lever stays locked on by itsself. I forget how to do it as its been several years since i have had one ot those tractors. just call the dealer, they will tell u how to do it, and it probally tells you in the manual.
By holding the valve open with the strap you are allowing the oil to bypass the detent valve. This can make it get hot and ruin the valve.

..You know Behog..you're probably right...I read that wrong...I have the MXM series tractor..with the New Holland system (Made in England) and that is the ones that won't run a Deere drill....

Re: Caseih Mx120 hydrualics
The MX Maxxums have the same basic style of hydraulics that a Magnum has and should run anything a Magnum will run.

Re: Caseih Mx120 hydrualics
Good idea, on the late-model IH tractors, at least (I don't own anything newer) the owner's manual says for continuous use, to push the lever forward, as the return oil will go to the cooler first. Running it with the lever back dumped it into the sump, making the tranny hotter.
