Chore tractor

Looking for a chore tractor to do grinding and manure hauling, just a plain tractor without all the bells and whistles, they seem to cause nothing but problems anyway. I have a JD 6430 now but would like something bigger in the 135-140 engine hp range with front wheel assist. The new Deeres are nice but very pricey especially considering the cab will smell like manure in a week anyway. Anyone have experience with a Case IH 140A or a Kubota 135GX? Both are about the same price and are about $30,000 less than a Deere of similiar horsepower. I don't care about brands and I have dealers close for all three . Thanks for any advice!

Re: Chore tractor

If you've got dealers nearby to take care of any situation that may arise, I would say any would be fine. Personally I wouldn't buy foreign, but if I were forced to, Kubota would be my choice.

Re: Chore tractor

Thanks Shaggy I would like to buy USA as well but I understand the small Deeres are made in Germany,  Masseys in France,Case IH in Mexico I don't know if its true but Ive heard the Kabotas are assembled in Georgia. My question on Kabota would be parts availability.

Re: Chore tractor

Point well taken fam. Just because it's an American company doesn't mean it's an American product.

Re: Chore tractor

One of the farm magazines has a issue each year that tells who makes what were. I took it with me on the way to my brother's one winter, he lives near Baltimore. Sure enough the stuff made in Europe was being trucked west and stuff made here was going east. Once when we were at fort McHenery (I think) we could see a freighter unloading mid sized New Holland tractors. We watched several hundred and the lot they were setting in look to have thousands. I never thought they would ship that many at a time.
