Deere 1760 vs 1770
What are the differences, pros and cons between a Deere 1760 and 1770 planter. Looking at a 1760 vac and 1770 finger.
Thanks

Re: Deere 1760 vs 1770
Depends on the amount of work you wish to do. Whichever you choose, immediately replace the meter hardware with Precision Planting parts. Their parts are far superior to anything Deere had OEM in those planters. THey finally got the hint and added their version of PPL's parts in the last several years. If you go with the finger unit, you will need to go through each thoroughlly each year and replace a lot of parts. General rule is they can be finickey. Vac meters need some attention also, but for the most part are more trouble free. Also, a 20/20 is well worth the money.

Echo what Bob says. I have never run a finger planter. However we run a vac planter and put in the JD precision plate and love it. Tons better than OEM
