Ford New Holland 8670 tractor

I'm looking to buy an 8670 FordNH tractor. I don't know much about them. It is 4 wd, and 145 hp. Has a 16 speed powershift. Can you tell me any problems with this tractor, or what to watch out for. It has 4000 hrs, and asking about $48000.  Any info is appreciated.

What year. My cousins had a 8240 (I think) early 90's model. Had a lot of trouble with that transmition. Problems were all electronic. I think the dealer they traded it to uses it on his farm with no problems. Maybe it just had some bugs that took years to get worked out.

The tractor is a 1995.

I have a late 90's TS 90 have 4000 hrs on it no problems. It has the 24x24 transmition. I bet by 1995 they figured out their electronic problems.

Serial Number 406980 and above has the inter cooler for 8760 and 8770 New Holland Tractors.

weve had 2 for atleast 6 years with very little trouble.  couple electrical selinoids is about it other than normal wear and tear. found a piece of a washer when changing hydralic oil from rear end and when we got into it the ring gear and pinion had a few pits. tractor has 9500 hours but mostly loader so kinda wondering there. found out 8770 and above has bigger rear end. maybe something to look at if wanting to pull hard.  other than that very reliable.  Genesis series one of the best ever produced

We have a 8970  6000hrs  few minor electrical issues but strong well built tractor for it,s age

I just purchased a 8770 this afternoon. I am very pleased with the tractor. If anyone has any more comments on the 8770, I would like to hear them.
