HP to pull 36x20 Kinze?

Might trade from 32 row 15" Kinze to a 36 row 20" planter.  Have been using Challenger 35 (175 hp) with 18" tracks with no problems and ~600 gallons of liquid on tractor.  The 4 extra rows won't be as much as all the extra beam and frame weight.  Mostly flat land, pretty heavy black soils.  Will want liquid on the new one also.

It must pull easier in your ground.  Here in heavy clay most are putting 200 HP in front of 32/15  30"-15" planters.

I think in your situation...It probably depends most on how fast you want to plant. If you're moving along at 6.5 mph...I would look for about 240 engine horsepower. If I was moving 4 mph...I think I could get by with 190. It doesn't sound like you've got many hills...

I don't know for sure, but I would think that the same tractor would work if you have plenty of power now and you arn't having any slppage
