High maintenance equipment

What do you consider your highest maintenance equipment, and does it affect how you farm?

I think the combine takes more of my time and money than anything else.  But, there's not too much I can do about it at my age and the amount of money I'm willing to spend on anything else.

A grain vac is a wonderful machine in my  mind, although I know many farmers hate them.  But, they are much better than a scoop shovel.  The vac and the hoses wear out quickly.

From the 60's through the 90's, we farmed with an FMC Sidewinder, which is a giant rototiller we run about 2" deep.  Max speed is about 3.5 mph or the machine gets on top of the gorund and walks insted of tills.  They are a maintenance hog, as well.  All the knives maintain plus a high torque drive line.

Re: High maintenance equipment

Combine by a significant margin.  Read that sugar beet lifting equipment is high maintenance.  Probably this category would include potato (potatoe?) lifting and rock picking implements.
