John Deere field cultivators 960 vs 980
Can someone tell me what the difference is between a john deere 960 and 980 field cultivator. Is it clearance height or length or what.
Thanks in advance

Re: John Deere field cultivators 960 vs 980
the 980 has a self leveling hitch. wish I knew more but someone else will have to jump in.

Re: John Deere field cultivators 960 vs 980
I've had both. Not sure why, but the shanks on the used 960's get really loose with sideto side play. the 980 that i had did a very nice level job and trash clearance was a little better than the 960. 960's have negative tongue weight and the 980's are balanced so that the weight is forward. (not sure this is a big deal) Way better harrow on the 980. Longer and heavier tines.
