L 10 Cummins
The engine I put in my N6 has a micro V belt driving the fan, 8 vees I think. They come in different pitches for these belts. Would any one have an idea of what pitch the original belt is or can you steer me in the right direction. Many thanks. Col.

Re: L 10 Cummins
My uncle had the same problem, and I think he wound up taking the alternator or alternator pulley to the parts store to be sure it was matched up right.
Why they have to have so many variations of that sort of stuff is beyond me. I'm thinking of running for Emperor of the World, and my first (and maybe only) order of business would be to standardize stuff. A 1 inch bearing would be a 1 inch bearing. It would either be flat race, or pillow block, instead of one of 20+ different possibilities. While we are at it, I think we could get by with under 10 different oil filters, as well. Wheels would be either 4-bolt, 5-bolt, 6-bolt, etc, and any wheel with the same number of bolts would fit where any other was.
I could go on, but I think you get where I'm going.

When you apply for that job, you have my vote.
The current pulley on the fan is 6 inches and so is the crank. I am leaning towards the fam pulley not being able to get traction as the original fan blades off the N6 are still used. Maybe two or three v belts might be better?
