Really need advice on 1000 pto implements on 540 pto tractor

I have the option of buying an IH 1360 (artsway PM 30) mixer mill with 1000 pto.  I only have 54o pto on the tractors and would probably use a White 120 on it.  Is this doable?  I would rather change the mixer than the tractors as all the other equipment is 540 driven.  Any thoughts on this?  Can I change the pulley size on the mill portion?....or should I??  Thanks in advance.

Can you incorporate a 2:1 reducer gearbox right behind your PTO shaft? That might be better than changing the pulley. Just my thought?

Mixer would run too slow. I would look for a different mill.

I have no idea or experience with the reducer gearbox. Sounds complicated and expensive but might be an option.

I'm sure you know that 1000 has half the torque on the PTO shaft as 540 so maybe there is a good reason for 1000 on that particular mill.I'm currently replacing a twisted 540 PTO shaft on my manure spreader courtesy of my CIH 130. If you are expanding your operation you might also consider a cheap tractor with 1000 PTO to leave on the mixer. Local tractor jockey here has Case 150hp Agri-Kings for 5000-6000$ ,although a bit rough. Also repairs(?)

I have an old NH 359 mixer that has a 1000 shaft on it. Always used the same ole 1086 tractor to grind with. Never gave it a thought as to why they designed it that way...
