Silent recall on rear noise in Chevy pkp
My friend just got a kit installed by dealer to reduce rear noise in his GMC pickup (2008 i/2 ton crew). Took three hours to install and really worked. He said GM warranty takes care of it but only if the customer complains. Does anyone know what years and models this silent recall covers? farminatr

Re: Silent recall on rear noise in Chevy pkp
I've always thought the idea of a silent recall was silly. the company must know it did something wrong if it is offering a silent recall, so why can't the just come out and say it.

Re: Silent recall on rear noise in Chevy pkp
I guess I don't know if they actually did something "wrong", but they can put a bunch of insulation behind the back seat to quiet down the inside of the cab. Noise is a subjective complaint, and what bothers one person doesn't necessarily bother the next. I just imagine a pickup that had the treatment would be more desireable for resale. They do it in the body shop and it takes about 3 hours. I'm just not sure which pickups are eligible.
