Re: american farmer height compared to firestone
I've never tried to plant 90#-120# thru my planter. If we don't use a drill, what else we suppose to use?

Re: american farmer height compared to firestone
If it's a drill and nothing more the little bit of difference in tire size is absolutely meaningless. Whether a hoe drill or a disc drill it will only go in the ground so far and that's it. If it does cultivating too then that's a whole different deal. It won't mess the drilling up but might mess up the cultivator by making one side run deeper than the other. ECIN, you need to stick with things you know about, like Maxi pads.

Re: american farmer height compared to firestone
What are you talking about peckerwood? I know my drills and this one is no different. All the man really needs to do is weld some scrap iron around it and size it up. Dang thing has had steel wheels since the day it was made. As I said before , if it cultivates too it might make a difference. Horses can only pull so much.

Re: american farmer height compared to firestone
Maybe this could be cleared up if Craig told us the model and what he is planting with it.

Re: american farmer height compared to firestone
It's a morris seedrite made in canada. I'm seeding spring wheat and flax and my main concern was the hoe openers being deeper on one side of the drill. I hadn't even thought about the drive for the seed box being off between the two wheels. I guess that's an issue too.

Sorry I can't be much help on that one, your way out of my erea of experience. When I mentioned using a planter I was just thinking soybeans.

Re: american farmer height compared to firestone
I found the specs for the tires. Firestone overall diameter 34.7, American Farmer 35 so I think I should be ok. Thanks for the responses.
