drills
I am looking at older drills to use on 80 acres tillable to plant food plots and wheat, alfalfa and millet. I have found a couple in my area. Which is better, a disk drill of hoe drill?

Re: drills
dont even bother with a hoe drill. they are junk. you will never, ever get good seed placement, period.
you cant get cheap, reliable, and good all at once.. you have to suck it up, and buy a real drill w/ discs. get something with a side mounted gauge wheel against the seed disk. maybe a 10 foot 750 or 1560 no till. if your doing plots with trailed gauge wheels or a hoe drill, i would write off 100% of your findings, because none of those things work.. i mean its like going out and buying the electric walmart impact wrench. it just wont work on the farm, and nor will a crappy drill

Re: drills
Once again 89 you are correct. I was just giving him the couple advantages a hoe drill might still maintain. Disc drills are without a doubt the all around drill of choice in most conditions.
