"Corn Monster" - What will it sell for?
Feb. 18th farm auction in Granville, IL (http://www.rickrediger.com/) has this unique piece of equipment: "Corn Monster" self-propelled grain cart, Kilbros 590 grain cart on JD 7700 combine chassis with 4225 engine hours. Here's a pic:
What do you guess the "Corn Monster" will sell for??

$170/ton. The tires and duals have some good value. My guess is it won;'t bring what the grain cart that size alone would bring. Let us know!

Only with farmer ingenuity can some take a $5000 combine and an $8000 grain cart and transform it into a $2000 piece of scrap iron. This is Farm Show stuff and most conversions are ridiculous

I bounce back and forth between thinking that is a great idea and agreeing with Don. I've seen a couple photos of ones made from Terragators which really interested me. The biggest problem with most of the combine conversions I have seen is not enough speed.
Thinking about what Don said, it is kind of like the saying "Farmers will spend 25 cents to save a dime."
