An aspirated muffler cleans out your intake air by working with your pre-cleaner. It works as a little vacuum to remove the dirt and dust automatically. You need to keep this feature or clean your air filter much more often. That feature is going to make it hard to replace the muffler with something else, but if you go with a standard non-aspirated muffler, you should probably swap the intake pre-cleaner to the style with a plastic bowl that you dump manually. Most often they were made by Donaldson and they were on many different engines and the size needs to be matched within reason for proper airflow and velocity. If you get one from a similar hp engine, say 100-150 hp) you should be OK.
