11cents from the promise land

I have a feeling with a big open window this weekend and more yield reports we will print 8 dollar beans Monday. Like it or hate it it's a reality. The reports I hear from Minnesota tell me the great white hope had no affect on bean yield since the yields are coming in outstanding.

Spot prices here along the Michigan/Indiana line were $8.75 for beans and $2.80 for corn at my local elevator. This market is getting a bit overdone.

Rumors

I was talking to my normal grain buyer in Washington, IA this morning.  They had tweeted that initial yeilds were way off the USDA projection.  I called and asked what they meant.  They said the yields were way better than farmers had expected and well over the USDA numbers.

This is purely a coffee shop rumor and I can't verify it.  I do have confidence in the person I talked with, but they could have been given bad info, of course.
