$14 cash beans from the combine
Are you going to sell them some? With all the anxiety about new crop prospects will you bet on continued drought or are you confident that you can fill the contract?
So what is the alternative? Doing nothing or buying puts?
So do you buy a $14 strike at 59 cents or a $15 strike at $1.14 and what would price guarantee would you get from that effort given the cost of the option and the probable basis charge?

Re: $14 cash beans from the combine
$14 off the combine? fukushima! I can`t, sold too many at $13.20`s and thought I was the smartest man in the room for the past 2 months. But when I pulled the trigger I said the classic "♫I`m selling♪ and hoping♫that these are the cheapest ♫beans that I sell♪". And that $13.23 may very well be the cheapest.
