Re: 2012 Yield Monitor

Final figures from our farm along river bottom in Putnam County:  non irrigated averaged 48, irrigated (including end rows @ zero) 148.  total farm 114 bpa corn.

Heard of one field 6 miles away that went 228.  Some in area were 170 and less.  Many were much less.

I got in to some very good black dirt and the yield monitor went ape *^&% , it hit 83 bpa in a few rounds == the problem ? not enought of the black dirt ! LMAO the 75ac piece went 47 bpa , with no rain most or the summer !"

Re: 2012 Yield Monitor

I feel for those in the drought this year. My past two harvests have yielded 50 bu corn and 35 on beans here in va. I guess it's my turn to make a dollar this time. Averaging 82 on beans and 183 with corn this time. I've had timely thunder showers this year and must have paid the preacher his due. Now I need more bins!

Re: 2012 Yield Monitor

In Northeastern Indiana our corn is doing a lot better than we expected. Its doing around 155 to 160 bpa and around 22-25%.   Some guys in the area were dealling with ears sprouting and droping. There was a scare right before harvest started about mold issues. But we have yet to find any issues.
