Re: 5 trillion calories
I doubt much of the "extra" calories consumed by Americans today come from animal fat. Most comes from junk food, and highly processed fast foods full of sugar. It is hard to beat protein from good animal meat.

Re: 5 trillion calories
The problem in this calculation is the resource intensively of most animal products.
You eat less meat and you free up a lot more resources.

Re: 5 trillion calories
Well, well, well I think we found the root cause of sd's mental issues. Too many mung bean casseroles, not enough real food.
If'n he was as smart as he thinks he is he should look back at human biology and history.
Why did 'ol Ma nature equip us with canine teeth?

Re: 5 trillion calories
SD would have us give up meat for beans to get our protein, but instead of cow farts we would have, well, "other emissions" to worry about...

Re: 5 trillion calories
I would like to know what to do with pastures? I sure don't think we could send people out to graze the grass, my body and stomach would not do so well on that diet. And to think, a cow has 4 stomachs, GOD must have had a plan and man thinks he is smarter than GOD. A lot of hills are covered in grass, probably can't get any more "green" than that.
