8 - 9 Weather Update
Good Morning. I just looked at the 6 - 10 day, and the 8 - 14 day forecsts. I haven't actually lloked at them for a while. Seems like this year they haven't been that accurate. I agree with the temps this time around, not with the precip maps.
The large rain event we have coming is showing more, and a wider distribution of rain. It starts next Friday as a small event in the Dakotas, but next weekend and into the following week, it should bring multiple days of rainy, fall type weather to much of the Midwest. Coverage on this one should be near 100% for the event. Many areas could pick up in excess of an inch.
You can thank the Jet Stream, that is making a guest appearance in the lower 48, after it's extended tour north of the border. In another month, it's appearance may not be so welcome.
Rainfall yesterday:
show NE as the big winner, with some nice rainfall totals, and for the past week:
Northeast ND, MN, and IN were mostly excluded from the bulk of the rainfall events. Elcheapo had the umbrellas out at his farm, maybe it's time to fold them up for this next event. Ken in IN went largely lacking, but by the looks of his pictures he's not hurting too badly anyway. And Shaggy you still have a pretty good chance today and into tonight to pick up some additional rainfall. By the way, some of those rainfall totals through SD, NE, SW IA and into MO look pretty impressive. My former neighbor from over in Central WI posted this morning that he saw some birds flocking and moving south, and that it's a bit on the dry side in Central WI, even with the inch they picked up about a week ago. I always hated wet falls - this next event could be the start of that very thing. On the plus side, if it's a bit wetter, it won't freeze as soon. Let's hope all you that need rainfall get some from this next system.

Re: 8 - 9 Weather Update
Just got placed under a severe t-storm watch until 0200. Lots of storms about 100 miles NW of me wth 80 MPH straight line winds and golfball sized hail and yes a couple tornado warnings.
Jen is this what I ordered? I think not, I was under the impression you only delivered desireable precipitation.

I don't mind the good or the bad, it's the ugly that I look out for.

Re: 8 - 9 Weather Update
Just got windy as hell here about 10 minutes ago and the temperature dropped about 15 degrees as well. Must not be anything to severe, no reports being broadcast on the radio yet, but stay tuned...
