Re: A profound statement I heard somewhere.
OKdon,
How about heavy fog? Reporting from the Top Farmer Conference in West Lafayette, Indiana, today. I couldn't find the location of the Beck Ag Center, due to the heavy fog. The visibility was less than a half-mile, at 7am.
But, in general, the crops look pretty good. As one conference speaker has already said this morning, "It's the wettest drought I've seen."

Re: A profound statement I heard somewhere.
Looks like the overnight rains and the 7 day shrink dry areas to just the far NW and NE fringes of the belt. And they do have some chances. Let's call the corn crop made, now we're just going to argue about how big. 3-4 bu either way from trend probably makes .50 difference.

8-14 remains warm but seems to open the gulf up some more. If that verifies and extends by very much it is going to get near impossible for bean bulls to hang on hoping for that promised dry August.
