A summary of global wheat highlights.

The USW Newsletter is usually short and covers a broad perspective but each issue confines itself to certain topics but almost always mentions current global conditions.

This isn't very comprehensive but hits on current situations. One situation not included I find interesting is that Brazilian mills are saying Argentina failed to deliver on contracts for wheat in December, forcing the mills to look elsewhere. I think that means US wheat. High protein wheat still appears to be an issue as good yields are usually indicative of lower protein.

Palouser markets are getting interesting free dp for all grain this week and got a call and wasoffered 75 over for spring wht today. Wonder what they know that I or you or somebody else doesn't know. Demand at fire sale prices would be my guess. But what do I know.

What's your protein level?  If you have good protein level an elevator can make money blending with lower protein. Anyone with 15% protein may find it in demand at a better price later this year - if you have already got other cash needs taken care of. I would certainly call around and tell other buyers what kind of premium you're being offered and see how they react when you ask if they have an explanation.
