Acres And Production
The talk of reduced corn and soybean acres has to be considered in light of the quality of acres lost. Losing unirrigated western Kansas corn ground is one thing. Losing the same amount of Iowa or Illinois corn ground is something else.
What is the loss of total expected production and how does that compare to anticipated reduction in acres? One would think the average yield per acre would go up if some of the rougher ground is out of production, which means the total production will not reduce as much as one might think.
