Re: After the election grain markets?

I don't watch TV.  So I have only a limited view of the world.  R and R will win.  Aid to the rest of the world will decrease.  20 billion this year ( to buy the love)  to Bush levels of 11 billion.  Food aid down, exports down, I am long corn, corn down.

Roaring Tiger:

No matter which man wins, the economy will improve, grain prices will go down and the stock market will go up.

My prediction:  Obama wins big.

Re: After the election grain markets?

Both a resumption of the euro crisis and the fiscal cliff loom, not to mention the assorted hints accumulating over the last couple months that the world economy is approaching stall speed.

The least likely outcome seems to be the one that markets would like the most- that either side comes out with control all houses including the white one.

One thing that I really think the broad market isn't going to like in the short term is a republican sweep.  They say the economy needs some tough love and in the long run it can at least be debated that it is true. In the shorter term da boyz are going to get some serious shakes as the threat of taking away the meth is presented (and no, I don't think the Confidence Fairy sill make any more than a toekn appearance).

A Fed headed by John Taylor equals a sub 10,000 Dow, at least for a while.

Anyway, that is premature as the more likely outcome is a mixed result, which I don't think will give very clear signals at all.

Re: After the election grain markets?

Fyi.......how many know that on Jan 1 taxes for 163M americans will go up by 2 percent almost immediately.......no matter which guy wins........

Anyone know why????

Like it or not.....the party is over, we have to deal with debt......taxes will go up......bobblecare is going to wreck business......

All this will make companies curl up tighter to weather the storm.........right as many Americans come off 99 weeks of unemployment.......and we are so far in debt to do anything......

I am betting the sale of guns and ammo go parabolic of bobblehead wins.....

Get you house in order.....

Re: After the election grain markets?

If you want to take the tens, if not hundreds of thousands in government subsidies that you get this year and lay in ammo and beans, go ahead. It is a free country.

Re: After the election grain markets?

Explain to me how it will be bad for the privileged and wealthy Vandenplas.  This is the same bloviation we heard four years ago.  Guess who thrived under Obama the past four years?  Warren Buffett had nearly half of his net worth lost, but guess what he's made almost all of it back under Obama.  Don't kid yourself, I'm not sure there's ever been a president more friendly to the privileged and wealthy than Obama.  Why in the heck should we believe the next four years would be any different if he wins?
