Any cattle traders

Feeder cattle look like a sell in here soon. Can't go vertical forever.

Re: Any cattle traders

I thought that when they went over 90 dollars,,,I'm not saying don't sell but its really tight supplies I have some to sell on the hoof, I hate to get caught with them.

Re: Any cattle traders

Pritch made a good call on that one, maybe she'll cash out.

At least if it were me I'd claim to have had 100 contracts and then punched out here. Why not?

Re: Any cattle traders

PS. If I had a bunch of $1200 feeders I'd probably turn the poor critters into pin cushions, shooting them up every time they sneezed.

those would be four very expensive hooves to see pointing skyward when you came out in the morning.

Re: Any cattle traders

Need a push higher in fats to maintain or move the price higher in feeders. Auction mkts. are actually higher in feeders, than the board. But in a small market like feeder cattle anything can happen. Still picking up dead animals surrounding Black Hills

Re: Any cattle traders

Easy to say, can't keep going like this, but playing with fire. Smallest calf crop  in 50+ yrs, + drought indiuced kiquidation '11 and '12.

We do not know how scarce feeders are. could be really, scarce. a risk of that at a min.

buy minus 10 if we pause thqt much.

Re: Any cattle traders

I'm rethinking buying stockers this winter. I've got lots of grass, hay, and cheap corn, even some feed quality wheat in storage. Not sure any of that is a good reason to pay to much for calves.
