Anyone getting rain overnight/today?

It was supposed to be raining in Iowa last night and today (70% chance).  Here near Waterloo, it's been only sprinkles thus far.  Radar showed lots of color last night, but nothing much ever fell.  i still see lots of color in southern Iowa.  Is any of that amounting to anything?  Market has been trading a big rain today thus far this week.  Is it happening?

.3 in NCIA, looks like more comin`.  Went to Davenport the other day,  things looked good down to C.R., then it started looking like things really needed a drink at Iowa City and east.  Farmers at Davenport said they got planted in April then 2 1/2" came down hard then nothing.  A guy all the way to Peoria area wanted rain.

I made my original post just looking out the window early this morning and then off of memory late last night before going to bed..  After going outside, looks like we actually got more than sprinkles, probably in the neighborhood of .2-.3 like BA mentioned.  Must of all fell after I went to sleep.  Forgot to put rain gauge out again after mowing last time, so can't say for sure.  20 miles NE of Waterloo, crops look pretty good.  We benefited from a good 1.5" rain a week ago that wasn't real widespread, otherwise we'd be hurting here.  Small corn is looking good.  Bigger corn is starting to hurt on lighter ground.

My rain gauge show .1 of an inch this morning and am getting light drizzle now.    Forecast yesterday was for more than an inch of rain.....maybe more is on the way.....

Here is what I'm seeing this morning on the radar. There seems to be a lot of colors anyway.

How much is accumulating is a good question. I'd think the market is seeing this as bearish, based on weaker overnight prices.

.71"   Best rain since May 6.  Total for the month at 3.58.  It looks like parts of Kansas got lots of rain.  This will take the pressure off a little for some, but not all.

Thankful for every drop.

Thought I would point out it is not just Iowa that has dry spots.

Lots of dry areas in Ontario. Running about 40% normal rain but stories of areas with too much rain and some with even less.

Helping neighbour put up haylage and he hopes to have bunk 2/3 full.

Same bunk last year we piled it over high and it krept out the front to get it all in.

May be a market for more grain corn because he will fill everything with corn silage to try to make up for any shortfall in hay then will need to buy more shelled corn to make up that shortage.

Trying to rain here now in N cent. Mo. ( approx. 60 miles s. of Iowa dead cntr. of Mo.) needed BAD!  Lots of corn in the area that was replanted still laying in dry dirt, lots of spotty beans too laying in dry dirt and still lots of beans that aren't planted because it's too dry.  Beans that are up just can't grow, corn looking wilty and some on light ground firing.

I got .5 inches last night.  BA would get more if he drove a ford! LOL
